"11.11.11" A Blitz Remembrance of Our Veterans

A recent letter to Blitz from Mr. Melvin C. Bashner of El Paso, Texas, is only one of many letters we receive from America's heroes, our Veterans.  As many do in their letters, he recalled our 'Blitz cloth'.  He wrote, in part, "... As a World War II - U.S. Marine --- the Blitz cloth - was a must for ... brass!"  Mr. Bashner has been featured in the 12 May 1995 China Daily reminiscing about the horrors and history of the Asian aspect of World War II, and concluded in his memory, "... we cannot relax our vigilance, or we pay these same high prices we paid ... years ago."

We at Blitz respect the history of our Veterans, and recognize that a great part of the Blitz past was directly tied to the everyday G.I. Joe and those soldiers who fought and paid the ultimate price to give us the freedom we cherish today.  On 11 November let us remember Veterans.  On 7 December remember the attack of Pearl Harbor in 1941.  On 11 September remember the modern day patriots and first-responders who were called upon by fate to help their neighbors in the 2001 attack.  And let everyday be a day of remembrance and thanksgiving for other every-day individuals whether they work tirelessly at homeless shelters, help the sick to recover, or give hospice aid and comfort and dignity.

And, yes - as we responded to Mr. Bashner's request - Blitz still makes the Blitz cloth with the same 1912 formulation.  If you cannot find it locally - we still offer it on our website.  Just click the icon below to find it, or click here.
